GLOW’s first full season is finally available on Netflix for streaming! You can watch all episodes here!
Inspired by the real story of the 1980’s female wrestling league, the series set in Los Angeles and showcasing big hair and body slams will be the fictionalized story of an out of work actress who finds one last attempt to live her dreams in the form of a weekly series about female wrestlers.
GLOW was co-created by Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch and Jenji Kohan and Tara Herrmann serve as executive producers. Flahive previously worked on Homeland and Nurse Jackie while Mensch worked with Kohan as a producer for Orange is the New Black and previously on Weeds.
Netflix has released the first teaser for the upcoming 1980’s female wrestling comedy series G.L.O.W. The 10-episode first season of the series, from Weeds and Orange is the New Black creator Jenji Kohan, was announced last year for Netflix, with a cast led by Alison Brie and Marc Maron, with Betty Gilpin, Jackie Tohn, Elizabeth Perkins and Ellen Wong also listed among the cast.
G.L.O.W. tells the fictional story of Ruth Wilder (Brie), an out-of-work, struggling actress in 1980s Los Angeles who finds one last chance for stardom when she’s thrust into the glitter and spandex world of women’s wrestling. In addition to working with 12 Hollywood misfits, Ruth also has to compete with Debbie Eagan (Betty Gilpin) a former soap actress who left the business to have a baby, only to be sucked back into work when her picture perfect life is not what it seems. And at the wheel is Sam Sylvia (Marc Maron), a washed-up, B-movie director who now must lead this group of women on the journey to wrestling stardom.
Glow premieres on Friday, June 23 on Netflix.
