Elizabeth Perkins to Guest Star in the new season of “Curb Your Enthusiasm”

Emmy and Golden Globe-winning comedy series CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM, starring Larry David, returns for its ten-episode ninth season SUNDAY, OCT. 1 (10:00–10:30 p.m. ET/PT), on HBO. The show stars “Seinfeld” co-creator David as an over-the-top version of himself in an unsparing but tongue-in-cheek depiction of his life. This season, Larry has a new venture that elicits promising feedback from a number of prospective investors — until a string of missteps undermines the plan, at least temporarily.

Returning for the new season are cast favorites Jeff Garlin as Jeff, Susie Essman as Susie, J.B. Smoove as Leon and Cheryl Hines as Cheryl, along with Richard Lewis, Bob Einstein, Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen.

Also appearing on CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM this season are Katie Aselton, Elizabeth Banks, Ed Begley, Jr., Carrie Brownstein, Bryan Cranston, Lauren Graham, Jimmy Kimmel, Nick Offerman, Nasim Pedrad, Elizabeth Perkins, June Diane Raphael, Andrea Savage, Damon Wayans, Jr., Steven Weber and Casey Wilson.

Elizabeth Perkins returns to “This is Us”

Elizabeth Perkins is returning for the second season of “This Is Us” premiering next month. Her role is Janet Malone, the mother of the Pearson matriarch played by Mandy Moore.

Set to guest star on the Emmy-nominated series include Katie Couric, Katey Sagal, Brad Garrett, Seth Meyers, Jimmi Simpson and Elizabeth Perkins. Don’t miss the season premiere Tuesday, September 26 at 9/8c o NBC.

Inspired by the real story of the 1980’s female wrestling league, the series set in Los Angeles and showcasing big hair and body slams will be the fictionalized story of an out of work actress who finds one last attempt to live her dreams in the form of a weekly series about female wrestlers.

GLOW was co-created by Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch and Jenji Kohan and Tara Herrmann serve as executive producers. Flahive previously worked on Homeland and Nurse Jackie while Mensch worked with Kohan as a producer for Orange is the New Black and previously on Weeds.

1st teaser of Netflix’s female wrestling comedy G.L.O.W.

Netflix has released the first teaser for the upcoming 1980’s female wrestling comedy series G.L.O.W. The 10-episode first season of the series, from Weeds and Orange is the New Black creator Jenji Kohan, was announced last year for Netflix, with a cast led by Alison Brie and Marc Maron, with Betty Gilpin, Jackie Tohn, Elizabeth Perkins and Ellen Wong also listed among the cast.

G.L.O.W. tells the fictional story of Ruth Wilder (Brie), an out-of-work, struggling actress in 1980s Los Angeles who finds one last chance for stardom when she’s thrust into the glitter and spandex world of women’s wrestling. In addition to working with 12 Hollywood misfits, Ruth also has to compete with Debbie Eagan (Betty Gilpin) a former soap actress who left the business to have a baby, only to be sucked back into work when her picture perfect life is not what it seems. And at the wheel is Sam Sylvia (Marc Maron), a washed-up, B-movie director who now must lead this group of women on the journey to wrestling stardom.

Glow premieres on Friday, June 23 on Netflix.

Elizabeth Perkins to co-star in “Sharp Objects” HBO Series

Elizabeth Perkins and Madison Davenport (From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series) are set to co-star opposite Amy Adams and Patricia Clarkson in Sharp Objects, HBO’s 8-Episode drama series from Entertainment One. Additionally, Weeds alumna Elizabeth Perkins will guest star on the upcoming new season of HBO’s Larry David comedy series Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Written by Marti Noxon based on the book by Gillian Flynn and directed by Jean Marc Vallée, Sharp Objects centers on reporter Camille Preaker (Amy Adams). Fresh from a brief stay at a psychiatric hospital, Camille must return to her tiny hometown to cover the murders of two preteen girls. Trying to put together a psychological puzzle from her past, Camille finds herself identifying with the young victims a bit too closely.

Elizabeth Perkins will play Jackie, the local gossip and renowned alcoholic, trashy, fun, big hair, big makeup. She knows she’s a “backwoods Barbie” and has a sense of humor about it.

Noxon, who serves as writer/showrunner, executive produces alongside Adams; Flynn, who is writing multiple episodes; and Big Little Lies‘ Vallée, who is directing all episodes and serves as co-editor. Also executive producing are Jason Blum, Charles Layton, Jessica Rhoades for Blumhouse Television and Nathan Ross.

Elizabeth Perkins, three-time Emmy nominee for her role on Showtime’s Weeds, recently guest starred on the hit new NBC drama series This Is Us. She is repped by Gersh and Brillstein Entertainment Partners.

G.L.O.W. gets Netflix Premiere Date!

Netflix on Wednesday announced that Season 1 of GLOW, a scripted comedy series inspired by the 1980s phenomenon Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling, will premiere on Friday, June 23.

In Los Angeles-set comedy, Brie plays Ruth, a struggling actress who becomes a TV wrestler in a last-ditch effort to keep her star burning. Marc Maron (Maron) co-stars as washed-up film director Sam Sylvia, who suddenly finds himself leading 14 women on a path to wrestling stardom.

GLOW hails from Liz Flahive (Homeland) and Carly Mensch (Orange Is the New Black), and counts OITNB‘s Jenji Kohan and Tara Herrmann among its executive producers.

•• Tuesday night, January 10, 2017 was aired the eleventh episode of midseason premiere of “This Is Us” on NBC! This episode was titled “The Right This To Do”. The show aired the first scenes of Elizabeth Perkins as Janet Malone (Rebecca’s Mom) as we previously announced on the website. Elizabeth Perkins to play Rebecca’s mother on “This Is Us”

•• Elizabeth Perkins has signed on to play Janet Malone, the mother of the Pearson matriarch played by Mandy Moore. The Emmy-nominated Weeds actress will be seen in flashback scenes when Rebecca is an adult. (Another actress was briefly seen as Rebecca’s mom in an episode 5 flashback that featured Rebecca as a child.)

The Big star whose recent TV credits also include How to Get Away With Murder, How to Live With Your Parents (for the Rest of Your Life), and The Closer will appear in at least one episode that will air later this season. Perkins and Moore both starred in the 2002 dramedy All I Want.

The season 1 guest roster of This Is Us has featured Gerald McRaney, Katey Sagal, Brad Garrett, Janet Montgomery, and Jami Gertz. Upcoming familiar faces include Sam Trammell, Denis O’Hare, and Jimmi Simpson.

This Is Us airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
