Weeds‘ decision to part ways with Elizabeth Perkins for creative reasons has left more than just fans in need of a stiff drink. “It’s really sad — really sad,” sighs the show’s leading lady, Mary-Louise Parker. “And it’s sad for her.”
Given that much of Weeds‘ upcoming sixth season will find Parker’s Nancy on the run, producers would’ve struggled to find ways to integrate Perkins’ boozy PTA mom, Celia. But that doesn’t make her absence any less of a buzzkill, says Parker.
“I just can’t think of a single negative thing to say about Elizabeth Perkins,” she says. “I’m sure there are many because she’s a human being, but I worked with her for [five] years and she was a wonderful person in the morning and she was a wonderful person when you worked an 18-hour day.
“She’s giving, she’s sweet, she’s hilarious — she’s freakishly wonderful,” Parker continues. “And I just loved her acting. I don’t think anybody could have done what she did. I would watch her all the time and go, ‘God, I would have never thought to do that.’ I can’t really say enough good things about her.’”

Finally Elizabeth Perkins Fan has a new beautiful layout featuring images taken in 2007. It’s definitely one of my favorite photoshoots of Elizabeth and I really adore this new layout, thanks to my talented friend Shawn Corson for making it. Hoping you like the new look on the site and please leave a comment to let me know what you think!!
Elizabeth is leaving Weeds for a big-screen turn as another mother figure in “I Hop” a live-action/CG-animated comedy.
Repped by Gersh and Brillstein Entertainment Partners, is ending her five-year run on the Showtime series, for which she has earned three Emmy nominations for supporting actress in a comedy series as well as two Golden Globe noms.
I Hop is directed by Tim Hill, the April 1, 2011 release tells the tale of an out-of-work slacker (James Marsden) who accidentally injures the Easter Bunny (voiced by Russell Brand) and must take him in as he recovers. As Fred struggles with the world’s worst houseguest, both will learn what it takes to finally grow up.
Elizabeth will play Marsden’s exasperated mother in the Illumination Entertainment/Universal production. She also is developing a comedy series as a starring vehicle for herself.
