MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET (Wednesday, 8:30 p.m., ABC Family): This is the 1994 “classic” version of the movie with Elizabeth Perkins and Mara Wilson. Oh sure, some say there’s no topping the 1947 version, but I say humbug! If Hollywood can remake The Karate Kid, they can remake this holiday classic — in color — as well.

After the poster has been released for the Russell Brand starring animated comedy Hop did the rounds there’s a teaser trailer to entice the masses. Along with Brand the film stars James Marsden, Kaley Cuoco, Elizabeth Perkins and Chelsea Handler and comes from the same team who unleashed Despicable Me to the world.

In synopsis-speak Hop is  “the comic tale of Fred (James Marsden), an out-of-work slacker who accidentally injures the Easter Bunny (voiced by Russell Brand) and must take him in as he recovers”.

The teaser is more of an animation test and benefits from the ubiquitous Song 2 and I can’t help but think of a recent advert for a chocolate bar.

‘Hop’ premieres Apr. 1, 2011,  just in time for Easter! Here’s the trailer, courtesy of Moviefone.
