Hellenic Times Scholarship Fund to Award $100,000 in Scholarships
The Hellenic Times Scholarship Fund will award $100,000 during its 2007-2008 scholarship program. Applications must be postmarked by February 19, 2008. Since its inception, The HTSF has awarded more than 500 scholarships totaling over one million dollars to students from across the United States. The 2008 scholarships will be awarded at the 17th annual HTSF Gala, which will be held at the New York Marriott Marquis on Saturday, May 10, 2008.
Over the past two decades the HTSF has also honored, with its Humanitarian Award, members of the Greek community who are role models for its students to emulate including Oscar winner Olympia Dukakis, News Anchors Ernie Anastos, Thalia Assuras and Alexis Christoforous, Actress Marilu Henner, Actor/Singer Constantine Maroulis, CSI:NY star Melina Kanakaredes, daytime drama star John Aniston, Director Nick Cassavetes, Meteorologist Nick Gregory, Emmy winner Michael Chiklis, NBC Sportscaster Bob Costas, Emmy winning Actress Tina Fey, Jim Gianopulos — Chairman of Fox Filmed Entertainment, CSI:Miami star Sofia Milos, Businessmen Thomas O’Brien and Nicholas Bouras, Humanitarian Tita Scandalis-Monti, The Alexander Onassis Public Benefit Foundation, Emmy nominated actress Elizabeth Perkins, Star Trek’s Marina Sirtis, Judge Nicholas Tsoucalas, and others.
